Role Requirements
- Attention to detail - tight designs, every pixel counts!
- Adaptable - can look at existing branding and styling and create designs that fit in with this.
- Ability to self assess work
- Ability to communicate issues with your colleagues
- Have patience and stamina until you get it right
Your Skills
- Photoshop - excellent knowledge of the graphic design side of this program, for example Smart Objects, Layer Shapes, Layer Effects etc.
- Illustrator - again, skills in this app essential, will be required to create icons and other UI elements either to be styled in Photoshop or drawn solely in Illustrator.
- Organised - can create and use consistent naming systems for all parts of a project (uses descriptive names for PS layers for example!)
- capable of translating 3d - or photo realistic objects into a graphical style (this doesn't mean he/she needs to know 3D tools themselves)
- Some know how of icon formats and exporting for Windows and Mac - can create reduced palette (i.e. 8bit) versions of designs as well as full-colour.
- not essential, but some knowledge of Flash would help when working with developers
